Postoperative Care
More surgeries are being done on an outpatient basis than ever before. This means you go home a couple hours after the procedure instead of staying a night at the hospital. When you are tired after anesthesia it is hard to recall the discharge instructions. It can also be hard for family members to interpret the discharge instructions if they have no medical background. Northwest Nurse Care will help facilitate a smooth transition home from surgery, assist with your recovery, promote adequate hydration and nutrition, and monitor for any signs of complications. We will help you control unpleasant symptoms such as pain, nausea, and constipation. We will ensure you and your family members or care team understand all postop instructions given by the doctor. Adding a private nurse to your recovery plan promotes healing and brings ultimate peace of mind.
Private Postop Nurse Can Help With:
- pre-op checklist to help you prepare for surgery
- tuck you in at home after the procedure and help you get comfortable
- education on proper nutrition and hydration to promote healing and recovery

Post-Hospitalization Care
Hospital discharge is exciting and sometimes scary. You are well enough to go home, but still vulnerable during this transitional time and may still need to be cared for. Insurance-covered home health services are often unavailable; and if they are available, services take time to be implemented. Without close monitoring and careful understanding of discharge instructions, there are increased risks of complications and re-hospitalization. This can be very overwhelming for the patient and family members. Our nurses will bridge the gap and help prevent you or your loved one from falling through the cracks while optimizing health and wellness.
- close monitoring after transitioning home from the hospital
- assess the home for safety

Accompany Client to Appointments
Doctor appointments can be a blur. There is only so much time before the provider must move on to the next patient. Oftentimes you forget to ask important questions or forget important information given to you by the doctor. Having a complex health condition makes it even more difficult to address all of your concerns in one appointment. Bringing a private nurse along makes the appointment more efficient. We can help organize the pieces to the puzzle and present them to the doctor in a quick and organized fashion.
